Ultrasound Therapeutic Massage

What is Ultrasound massage, also known as Ultrasonic Massage?

Ultrasound Massage is a traditional Holistic (remedial, trigger point, sports, hot stone, aromatherapy) massage with the added benefit of incorporating a Ultrasound device on to specific muscles that need extra treatment because of trauma or injury e.g. sprained, strained, pulled or inflamed.

How does it work?

Ultrasound waves are high frequency sound waves that can penetrate deep in to tissues and muscles. The effects of ultrasound on soft tissue are both thermal and non thermal. Ultrasound works because sound waves impact against, and transmit some of their energy to injured tissue. It’s this transmission of energy, travelling at very high frequency, which causes a physiological effect. The vibrations that are released end up gently massaging the area, increasing blood flow, flushing lactic acids as well as toxins from the muscle fibres, easing tensed muscle tissue and reducing and in a lot of cases eliminating pain.
